Here’s a little bit about our journey:

2003
Head Coach & Founder Tom Owens is from Liverpool and has experienced many valuable lessons from the game of football. As an ambitious, young, aspiring footballer, Tom played for Preston North End for six years, before being released at the age of 18.

Not to be downhearted, Tom quickly picked himself up and went on to live and study in the United States on a soccer scholarship at Notre Dame College, where he would ultimately begin his journey as a coach.

2011
While playing in the US, Tom began to experiment with his own training regime, looking to take his own game to the next level. He recognized a weakness in his game, his weak foot, and set his sights on working to improve it. With a bag of balls, and a relentless drive to succeed, Tom went out to the pitch every day for a minimum of 1 hour on his own, to work on that particular area of his game. The results were there for all to see, and his confidence began to grow on his weak side.
2011
2012
Tom meets Dec as he joins him at Notre Dame College in the United States where they played together for 2 years and became close friends. 7 years later coach Dec would join Tom at Tom Owens UK as the first full-time member of the team.

2013
His success led him to believe that this supplemental training was the key to personal growth, to work on weaknesses, and to evolve as a player. He couldn’t help but wonder what would have become of him if he had only began to put this additional specialised work in from a young age? And better still, what if there was a service to help players along this journey? He continued to put these discoveries into practice in his pursuit of becoming a professional footballer
2013
2014
Tom wins the PDL for a 2nd time, this time with the Michigan Bucks scoring the winning goal in the national final in a 1-0 victory

It was in this coaching role that Tom first discovered his passion for youth development. In addition to his work with his club, Tom began to offer Private 1on1 sessions so that young players had the opportunity to come and get individually tailored work, away from the team environment, that was based solely on their particular needs in order to accelerate their development
